Gymdeed Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Halil Kaan Karan, the developer of Gymdeed, in Istanbul, Türkiye ("we", "us"). By using Gymdeed you agree to them. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where the two differ, these terms add to Apple's and do not take away any right it gives you.

1. The service

Gymdeed is an iPhone app that uses the camera to count your reps, check your form and coach you with a voice, and that plans your training. The camera picture is processed on your phone. Some features use the internet: the backup, Deed's written comments and subscriptions. How we handle your data is in the Privacy Policy.

2. Who can use it

You must be 16 or older. If the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to these terms, you need a parent's or guardian's agreement until you reach it.

3. Your account

• You can use Gymdeed as a guest, without an account. Your data then lives only on your phone, apart from the small guest record described in the Privacy Policy.
• To back up, you sign in with Apple. We don't ask Apple for your name or email.
• Keep your phone and Apple Account secure; what happens under your account is your responsibility.
• You can delete your account any time: Settings → Delete account and data.

4. Subscriptions (Gymdeed Plus)

• Gymdeed Plus is sold by Apple through the App Store as an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly. The price, the period and any free trial are shown on the purchase screen before you pay.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends.
• It renews automatically at the same price and period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• A free trial turns into a paid subscription at its end unless you cancel before. If you buy during a trial, the unused part of the trial ends.
• Cancel or manage in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your Gymdeed account does not cancel it.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its rules (reportaproblem.apple.com). Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
• If we change the price, Apple tells you in advance and, where required, asks for your agreement.

5. Using Gymdeed fairly

Don't: break the law with it; try to get around limits, the free gift or the subscription; reverse-engineer, copy or resell the app or its content, except as the law allows; interfere with our servers or other users; or use the app, its voice or its texts to build a competing service or to train AI models.

6. Deed's words

Some of what Deed says or writes is generated by AI (Anthropic's models) from your numbers. It can be wrong, repetitive or off. It is encouragement and general training guidance, not medical, nutritional or professional advice. The "angry" coach voice is a style you choose; it is not meant personally.

7. Counts are estimates

Rep counts, form scores and cues come from estimating body positions in the camera picture. Light, clothing, framing, distance and your phone affect them. They are estimates, not measurements, and we don't promise they are complete or error-free. The "wrong count?" button is there because the machine is not always right.

8. Health

Read the Health and Safety Notice; it is part of these terms. In short: Gymdeed is not a medical device and not medical advice. Check with a doctor before you start, especially with a condition, an injury or a pregnancy, and stop if something hurts. You are responsible for training within your limits and in a safe space.

9. Ours and yours

• The app, the coach's voice and lines, Deed the mascot, the design and the name Gymdeed belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under Apple's rules.
• Your workout data is yours. You let us store and process it only to provide the service, as the Privacy Policy describes.
• If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

10. Liability

• We provide Gymdeed "as is". We work to keep it available and correct, but we can't promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
• To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for injury that results from ignoring the Health and Safety Notice. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
• Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent or gross negligence, and nothing affects your mandatory rights as a consumer, including under the Turkish Consumer Protection Law (No. 6502) and the consumer law of the country where you live.

11. Ending

You can stop using Gymdeed and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to by law; if we stop offering Gymdeed, we'll tell you in the app in advance and you can use your subscription's remaining time or ask Apple for a refund. Sections 6–10 and 12 survive.

12. Law, changes and contact

• These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may also go to the consumer arbitration committees or courts that the law gives you.
• When we change these terms in substance, we tell you in the app before the change applies. If you keep using Gymdeed afterwards, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can stop and delete your account.
